The reason why IEOs, exchange offerings, token sales are suitable to put under a timeline is that for the launch of a network there is always a certain schedule necessary for all activities. For instance, you should be building a community depending on however many weeks you want to launch, or maybe that's when you should be pushing out aggressive marketing or think about choking economics, publishing your thoughts, driving your community on Reddit, etc. Having a roadmap provides a little bit more of a structure.

But all companies have different timelines. From a VC perspective, I do think there is something about putting a timeline to a token launch or a token-based project.
